December has been by far the busiest month our foodbank has seen to date. The month kicked off by receiving the amazing donation from the Lions Club of Dumfries and its four-day collection at Tesco with a final weight of 681.20kg. Thank you so much.
This then led into our own National 3-day neighborhood collection at Tesco Cuckoo Bridge store. Again, the Manager and staff of Tesco were wonderful at accommodating us. The volunteers who assisted us were the Dumfriesshire Foodbank volunteers, Apex staff, Red Cross volunteers and the Lighthouse Church volunteers, we can’t thank you all enough. Finally, a big thank you to the public for their kind donations; over the 3 days we collected a massive 1447.50kg.
